The unusual name reveals nothing of the cuisine until you dive into the menu. Not long ago, East Malaysian flavors were almost invisible in the Peninsula, but now the occasional Sarawakian eatery surfaces, carrying with it a strong Foochow imprint. For KLites, it feels quietly exotic - familiar yet foreign, a taste of elsewhere woven into the everyday. We zoom in on their signature noodles: Manicai Bihun and Kolomee Fried. The star here is the humble Manicai - also called Cangkuk Manis in Malay, Sweet Leaf in English, or simply 马尼菜 in Chinese. Botanists know it as Sauropus androgynus, but to Sarawakians it’s a comfort vegetable, stirred into countless dishes. On its own it carries no bold flavor, but folded into noodles it lends a gentle, green vitality—like a Southeast Asian echo of pesto, earthy and wholesome. Both plates bear the unmistakable stamp of wok hei - the breath of the wok. A teasing smokiness clings to the strands, a char-kissed depth that elevates humble noodles into something soulful. The presentation may be haphazard, but flavor wins the day, rescuing what the plating neglects. The peculiar combination of pork wantons in a red wine ginger broth works remarkably well and provides a flavourful boost. We enjoyed the ambience of the cafe - spacious, calming, sparkling clean and cheery. It would make an ideal place for get togethers or even a mobile office. This unassuming cafe comes recommended!

Above average foods. Cozy environment. Kolo mee and kampua taste good. Fried laksa is just ok. 3-layer coffee is quite savoury and aromatic. Clean and cozy cafe-style restaurant.

Love this Sarawak noodle spot in Kepong! The laksa is super flavorful, kolok mee is springy with crispy pork lard, and the mani chai beehoon is surprisingly good. The salted egg croissant is also a nice surprise. Will definitely come back!

First time here as recommended by friends. We had the kolo mee with wanton, fried kolo mee, sea coconut and passionfruit jelly drink. All were good! Noodle texture is aldante, not soft and soggy. There's a bit of the charred smell in the fried kolo mee which I enjoyed. Drinks were not too sweet. Restaurant ambience is relaxing with nice music. As we had late lunch, food and drinks were served quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back again to try the other dishes. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious and springy with a nice bounce Kuching Sarawak Kolo mee Original. The shallot oil and fried shallots gave it such a rich flavour. The charsiew was juicy and slightly sweet. The portion of noodles given was very generous.Balanced with fish cakes and fish balls it makes for a tasty and hearty meal
